The Old Adage is True…

As brands compete the consumer wins. I have to say, I was a bit concerned about the merger between AT&T, Bellsouth, and Cingular. I was sure that we would be in for price gouging, fewer options, and a huge corporate ego. I’m relieved to find that it’s been just the opposite. AT&T’s new option packages have spawned great competition between many of the most viable communication service providers. And mark my words, this competition between the major players, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, and to some extent, Sprint Nextel, will only hasten as time goes on and customer churn lessens. And if the players don’t currently offer several communication services, I’m sure the boardroom is racked with concepts at getting there.

Of course, as a marketer, I know that what it seems is not always what it is. I still choose to remain naively optimistic. Who wouldn’t love a monthly bill with your High Speed Internet, Digital Cable, and phone (home or cell) all-in-one? It’s almost too good to be true. The bundle options really seem to cut cost and right now, as a recent grad, this is my main priority… I’m sure you understand. As an added incentive, the available package options are relatively desirable. I can’t wait to see what other campaigns the players come up with to lure consumers. Now, I don’t mean to sound like an infomercial, but I will give credit where credit is due. Let me know if you think otherwise. I’m always up for a good debate.
