2008 Speckie Awards Celebrate Ads That Never Were

It’s the job of dvertising agencies to craft award-winning campaigns that wow the client. (And we all know ad agencies love awards.) But, what about those campaigns that don’t make it? Either they aren’t chosen by the client or the agencies decide to ditch them on their own. Now, even those ads can win an award. 2008 Speckie Awards

The Speckie Awards celebrate the “best advertising on the planet that was killed by clients, or just never even made it to their desk.”

The Speckies, sponsored by Adholes, were created to reward “great ideas for advertising and marketing despite not being published or approved by a client and to recognize the best talent in the industry minus the politics, luck and committees.”

The bar to entry is set very low – you can enter for as little as $10. Advertising mediums cover everything from outdoor to television and just about everything in between. And as long as the ad never ran, it’s eligible. In fact, that’s the only rule, so far as I can tell. Entrants don’t even have to belong to the advertising industry. Anyone can enter! So, what’s keeping you? Enter today. If you win, be sure and let me know! I’ll blog it.
