How one CEO stays connected
It’s common knowledge (or it should be) that the branding of a company starts with its employees. Let’s face it, if your employees don’t know your company’s mission and values then all the marketing efforts in the world aren’t going to help when the public comes calling. Throwing an employee manual at them is not the solution. Except for the vacation section, does anyone really read those things? Large or small, companies must start their culture from within. One of the best ideas I’ve heard in awhile is what Clark Kokich, CEO of Avenue A Razorfish, does: blog. Not to the public, but to his employees. This is a great way for the CEO to connect with his/her employees, and it also helps in spreading and enforcing the company’s mission and vision.
