Credit Cards are Now Cute?

Earlier this week, I did some research and writing on customizable credit cards. You know the ones that you can upload your one photos to the website and design your own credit card?

I thought this was pretty cool and have predications that pretty soon every credit card company will have the ability to offer this personalization to their customers.

In addition to your own photos you can also pretty much customize your credit card by picking an already created designed for you. I personally think that the option to customize increases membership for credit card companies.

Well after finding all of this cool stuff out about customizable credit cards, I discovered something even better. Diamond studded credit cards.

That’s right. What better customization than actual diamonds? GK Power, a Seoul-based smart card maker and online game provider, developed the luxury card and began selling it to local and overseas banks last year, said a recent Trendhunter article.

These diamond embedded cards are worth 300 times more than the regular plastic credit card.

The company, GK Power, signed a $175,000 contract last year with Dubai First Bank to supply 1,000 cards for the bank’s most valued clients.

  1. I know a couple of BBDO Atlanta interns who would swear they came up with the customizable cc idea for the Capital One account!
