Naming is Branding

Creating a name is a form of branding. When we get a glimpse of our newborn baby, we try to think of a good name to call him by. For business it is practically the same. When we think of a business, we often try to associate it by brainstorming a suitable name for it. Among the factors we try to include would be the following:

1. Purpose of existence of the Company
2. Mission and Vision of the Company
3. Product Lines
4. Marketing Strategies
5. Types of Service

Before we have a certain product registered, chances are a lot of time will be spent in trying to figure out what unique name to use. The trend today is to make it shorter or perhaps changing certain letters such as “S” to “Z”. Whatever the case may be, this becomes the foundation of it all. Afterwards, it is the brand building process towards building that brand name that is the real challenge.

In anything we do, whether it is naming a baby or perhaps finding a suitable domain name, we are branding ourselves. Just make it count since new names are bound to be built through the efforts we put into them. A good brand name will always depend on how people will work behind it. We have seen that happen through time and most of them are big names today.
