Anyone or any country for that matter would love to be tagged as something. But if you get branded as the no. 1 country due to drug trafficking, that is another story. The Philippines, oozing with ecstacy and cocaine has become the number one place for drugs, owing to the fact that drug trafficking-related cases have grown rampant over the years.

The latest of which involved the “Alabang Boys” scandal where a reported bribery try was reported is the cherry on the topping for this third world country. The Philippines is already known to be tops as far as graft and corruption in politics is concerned and now they have added another feather in their cap in the worst way.

The number for the Philippines is far greater than that of second-placed Thailand with 0.8 percent, followed by the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, or Laos with 0.7 percent, Cambodia with 0.6 percent and Myanmar and Vietnam each with 0.2 percent.

The report said that from the 20,000 drug users in the Philippines in 1972, the number climbed up to 6.7 million in 2004, meaning that one in every 29 Filipinos aged 10 to 44 was on drugs.
