A Road Trip Worth Taking

Road Trip Blogs have become a staple source of reading for many seeking to grasp a quick inside note to what is taking place around the globe. The largest section of people by far spreading a daily word to the masses would be mommy bloggers. What better way to grab potential dollars then by aligning yourself with mommy bloggers and the road trip to be following in 2008?

The Silicon Valley Moms Group Summer Road Trip 2008, places five moms dashing across America to California for the annual BlogHer Conference. What is amazing about this cross country fun on the road? The list…

It’s All in the Picture

There really is not much else to say. Just take one look at this picture and you can see the picture says it all!

Laundry

When I look at this ad, I see a company that is telling potential clients, “We will take you out of the trenches.” What person unhappy with their current employer wouldn’t see this ad and believe this is the job locator to go to? I think this recruiting company hits the spot!

Inferior Brands Spiking

dg_logo Do you know what is so good about having a generic or store brand right now? Well, for one the high price of gasoline. As the price to fuel vehicles continues to climb, consumers are turning to the lower cost version of their favorite products and to dollar or discount stores to purchase everyday necessities.

Stores can capture the action as consumers enter the doors by centrally locating their store brands of hot items before consumers even enter the isles. By clearly focusing on family dollarthe generic or store brand you are giving them a first impression that will stand out when…

Smart Car Marketing

Car Ads Locally, I see a ton of personal vehicles used for the purpose of advertising. And trust me, companies will pay because your car will reach exposure beyond possible outlets a local company may be able to go.

Unfortunately, since I was driving myself, I didn’t get a picture of the exact car that I saw, but this person went above and beyond just slapping an ad about the company on her car, she was marketing herself as the brand to get your company noticed.

At quick glance, not only would she advertise your company / product on her car, she would…

Smart Self Promotion

Among the many trots around the World Wide Web, I came upon an ad for Coffee with Ian. Not having a clue what it was about, I decided to take a closer look. The closer look led me to Ian’s Ning network. The portal to discussions and social networking, not on-line, but face-to-face.

In this day where the latest social networking like, Twitter, FriendFeed, and the hot topic lately, Plurk, are keeping people glued to their laptops, Ian is building his brand and social network by actually networking face-to-face.

This week alone, Ian has four chats set up for you to join,…

Martha’s Brand Taking Hit

What names spring to mind as the A-list brands - in people terms? I think of Oprah,  Donald Trump, and Martha Stewart. Undoubtedly each one has made their name stand out and many times had their names drug through the mud. Martha’s brand and her company, Martha Stewart Living, may be taking another huge hit to the Martha brand all over shattered tables.

Although no recall was ever initiated and eventually the tables were redesigned, a law suit against Martha Stewart Living over the table glass shattering and not issuing refunds could cost the company - let me rephrase that…

Word Of Mouth 101

We learned from Amy in an earlier post that word of mouth (WOM) can help companies relay job openings, “Hey, we have a job opening.” And it can also get you in the door, “Hey, I’m looking for a job.” So, we know that WOM helps to increase awareness, but can it help increase focus enough to honestly get the word out?

Awareness and focus on you and your product will carry you a long way if you have a product worth talking about. It must be interesting, engaging; grabbing the attention of the consumer for them to want to utter the product…

Pro-Life Drugstores

A niche-market is still small, but growing across the country and will be one more pharmacy larger in August.

The concept? Pro-life pharmacies. Each pharmacy still includes all basic general prescriptions and over-the-counter medicines any other typical pharmacy would carry, minus a few items. They do not sell any type of contraception for men or women - condoms, the pill, or any other birth control device.

The list of pharmacies is small, seven total nationwide. Following guidelines created by Pharmacists for Life International, these seven pharmacies have taken a pledge and will create a "pro-life" stance.

Yes, this is clearly a market…

Foreign Budweiser

Anheuser_Busch_Logo The buzz last week around the globe is that one true American brand could possibly go foreign if an unsolicited bid of $46 Billion dollars goes through. The fight is on and we all watch with intense anticipation.

Anheuser-Busch, brewers of the American beer, Budweiser, has an unsolicited bid on the table from Belgium brewer, InBev. Anheuser-Busch has already begun to put in place their army that will fight for this historical family-owned and operated company and keep the company “in the family.”

This possible deal has become so alarming to the Governor of Missouri, Matthew R. Blunt. He has officially opposed…

Loyal Without Mainstream

brand-760683There is no mainstream media floating throughout their home. No television commercials screaming with the latest Hannah Montana craze. No DVD’s of the latest Disney animated flick. No sound of the radio pounding out beats against the walls.

Hmm… so, how does a three year old understand Brand without it being shoved down her throat?

Cross-marketing!

Take a peek at this original post, Brand Loyalty at 3, from Silicon Valley Moms Blog. Companies can still reach the little ones!

Wolfgang vs. Wolfgang

Trademark-infringement can be defined roughly as  using "confusingly similar" terms or marks used by another company for your own purpose. Again, that is a rough statement. Well, what happens when you share the same name with a world-known chef like, Wolfgang? You may try to reap the rewards, but you may just get burned by your own flame.

The Wolfgang Puck brand has been hit with a string of

confusion since Wolfgang Zwiener entered the picture. A line of restaurants named, "Wolfgang’s Steakhouse," are the confusion, specifically confusing customers. Customers see the name and automatically assume that Wolfgang Puck is behind…

MasterCard is Priceless

Focusing on the plight of many Americans and their fight with rising fuel prices and economic woes, strain has hit the pockets of many. Reduce and reuse is the focus and keep the credit cards in the wallets. The finance charges are just another added fee not needed.

So, how does a company focus on being smart with others’ money? MasterCard has the perfect way to show debit users they understand times are tough, struggles will be a part of life, but you can overcome and continue to keep going. “Making it through the day: priceless.”

The answer: Mr. Bill. Yes. Mr.…
