Fun with Fine Arts

Just a quick one today!

Check out how this local museum used fun advertising to promote an upscale exhibit!

To promote an upcoming exhibit at the museum,  the Utah Museum of Fine Arts used these fun house mirrors and blurry windows (to hang in exisiting windows) to promote the message: See the world through the eyes of Monet and 22 other masters. Monet to Picasso, June 23-September 21.

What do you think of the campaign?  I think it’s a perfect fit for the exhibit!  What other creative promos have you seen done for art museums?

Graffiti - A new ad medium? Environmently friendly medium?

GreenGraffiti™ is an eco-friendly media form which clearly makes the statement that clean is green, starts a recent article on Trendhunter.

The advertising message is simply applied by using a template and a high pressure water sprayer to clean the dirt off of the sidewalks. So not only is the advertisement being revealed but the streets are being cleaned as well.

GreenGraffiti™ is completely carbon neutral and contributes in a unique way to a healthier environment.

Green Messaging

Boral cement trucks have taken a creative approach to green messaging by using the bodies of the cement barrels as an advertising technique.

These hippie like trucks are painted with the messaging: Happily powered by natural gas.

The Golden Touch

Remember the story of King Midas?

King Midas was a greedy king who wished that whatever he touched would turn to gold, and ended up starving himself because all the food he touched turned to the valuable metal.

According to livegrids, the project by an unknown rebel street artist questions the necessity of various objects in our daily life. The artist has been painting water fountains, public telephones, dustbins and other public stuff around the streets of Barcelona to put his message out.

Google, Art and Subtly

This past weekend in the meatpacking district of NYC, Google promoted their collaboration with artists for iGoogle by projecting imagery on the side of buildings and creating a tented lounge that included computer stations on the street.
